I refer to my paintings as creations from stillness. I have found the best thing I can do as an artist is to get out of the way and let life paint what it wants to paint. I get inspiration about what each painting will be, and then, bit by bit, the general sense of it fills in, but that all comes from stillness, too. If I start thinking about it, it all freezes up, and then I have to let it melt. If I am out of the way, the flowing happens; in the inspiration stage, in the formation stage, and in the creating/painting stage. Every single painting turns out very differently from what I imagine it will be, when I start off.
Although I have been experimenting with my paintings, one aspect of my paintings has been consistent: the realism. Even if the general theme of the painting depicts something divine, or transcendental, the oveall style of the painting is quite realistic. I really do enjoy painting women, or rather the Goddess as Woman, and Woman as the Goddess. This may change though; that’s up to stillness. My job is just to let the paintings come through. I feel that the stillness in my paintings is what most people seem to resonate with; knowingly or unknowingly they resonate with the stillness that creates and is imbued into all the paintings, because stillness is the deepest aspect of all of us.
